The quote is agreed before booking. No upfront payment or booking deposit. No cancellation charge. No charge if the vehicle cannot be started.
Can you jump start my car at home?
Yes. Ray can attend your home, workplace or a suitable roadside location. A roadside spot is fine when it is legal and safe to stop. Tell Ray the exact place when you call, including the car park name and level if there is one.
Are jump starts available at night and on bank holidays?
Yes. Jump starts operate 24/7 every day, including bank holidays, subject to availability. An estimated arrival time depends on where the car is, traffic, and any job already underway. Call for a current estimate.
Will a jump start definitely fix my car?
No. A flat battery is one reason a car will not start. A battery that has failed, a charging fault, or another starting problem can need different work. A successful jump start leaves the battery's condition unproven. If another fault looks likely, Ray will explain what he found and the sensible next step.
How quickly can you get to me?
Call for current availability and an estimated arrival time. It depends on your location, traffic, and any job Ray is already attending. You get a realistic estimate for the moment you call.
What if I need a replacement battery?
Dual Action Roadside also offers mobile battery replacement and fault code diagnostics reports Monday–Sunday, 08:00–20:00, subject to availability. EV battery health checks run during the same hours, by appointment. These services have separate booking requirements; ask Ray or see the main Dual Action Roadside website.
What should I have ready when I call?
The postcode where the car is parked, the registration, and what happens when you turn the key: a click, silence, dim lights, or nothing. If the car is in a car park, the name and the level or row save time on arrival.
Which Watford postcodes do you cover?
Watford includes WD17, WD18, WD19, WD24, and WD25. Cover is decided by distance: the standard area is 10 miles from the WD19 base. A district name on its own is a guide. Call with the full postcode and he will confirm before you book.
Do you cover places just outside Watford?
Bushey, Abbots Langley, Croxley Green, Rickmansworth, and Kings Langley sit outside the named Watford districts. Some of those postcodes still fall inside 10 miles of the WD19 base, and some do not. Call with the exact postcode for a yes or no, and a price, before you book.
What if the car still will not start?
Ray stops and tells you what he thinks is going on. He will not keep treating a jump start as the right job when it is not. There is no charge if the vehicle cannot be started.
Do you jump start vans?
Cars and similar light vehicles, yes. For a larger van, a motorhome, or a vehicle with an unusual battery layout, say so on the call so Ray can tell you whether he can help.
Does someone need to be with the car?
Yes. Someone needs to be with the vehicle, or able to meet Ray there, with the keys. If you are not the driver, call anyway and say who will be at the car. This is a jump start service, so the car needs to be accessible. It is not a lockout service.
District-by-district notes are on the coverage page. The booking steps are on how it works.
